LEMON BALM (Melissa officinalis)
DESCRIPTION—Part of the mint family, this fragrant herb grows easily in either part or full sun, 1-2ft tall. Leaves can be harvested and added to teas for a calming effect. The flavor is agreeable and it is a favorite of moms with antsy children. Helpful for anxiety that affects digestion. Wonderful antiviral properties and traditionally used to ease depression. Seeds need light to germinate. Zone 4-9, full sun. Consult a physician before use.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS—Transplant. Start seedlings indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Place a few seeds in each tray cell and tamp seeds into soil. Mist seeds and keep at 70F. Seeds need light to germinate. Transplant after last frost at a spacing of 12-18".
